This course is designed to meet the needs of both beginners who want to learn more about sailing and boating safety and nonsailing powerboaters who want to broaden their skills or better understand sailboat limitations. The course will include sailboat theory and techniques, boating safety, marine insurance, USCG equipment, rules of the road, basic piloting and navigation, popular knots, marine electronics, weather, boating terminology and safe-boathandling skills.
